Pinoy Book Character Online Contest

The purpose of the Pinoy Book Character Online Contest is to provide an opportunity for the Filipino family, not only to promote the excitement and love of reading, but to show the community our desire to share a healthy, scholastically nurturing and fun activity for the “dress up” contest. It is a fun way to educate the general public that reading is a worthwhile and enjoyable way to spend their free time. This contest showcases our favorite Pinoy Book Characters while enjoying and having fun as we struggle this COVID-19 pandemic.



The competition is open to all Filipino families who are residing in the Philippines.


a. This online contest is about Pinoy Book Characters.
b. The participants will choose a book character that they will be portraying.
c. Only books published by Lampara Books ( shall be used.
d. Costumes and props must be creative and are made of recycled materials.
e. Graphics and photo editing applications are allowed.
f. An Entry Form shall be accomplished by the participants with an attached family picture and shall also be submitted in .pdf format (Please see Attached Form for the template)
g. Entry Form, picture and attached requirements shall be uploaded to on or before November 15, 2020. Filenames shall be in the following formats:
i. Entry Form (#NBW2020PBCOC Last Name First Name)
ii. Picture Entry (#NBW2020PBCOC Last Name First Name)
h. Submission of entry constitutes permission to use the contestants’ name and entry for the purposes of presentation, marketing and promotion without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law. All entries will become property of the PLAI and NLP.
i. Winning entries will be posted on the PLAI and NLP Facebook pages and websites and will receive an email for notification.
j. Winners will be invited to attend the virtual Awarding and closing ceremonies on November 30, 2020 at 10:00 A.M.


The decision of the panel of judges based on the following criteria is final and irrevocable.

October 29- November 15, 2020Submission of entries by a representative with complete Name/Group/Institution’s Name and contact number. Each representative will use the title of the contest as a subject.
October 29, 2020Orientation of judges.
November 16- 23, 2020Preliminary judging
November 24, 2020Judging of final entries.
November 30, 2020Awarding and presentation of winners.


  1. There will be three (3) winners of this contest and they will receive the following:
    • 1st Prize – 15,000 + Certificate of Recognition
    • 2nd Prize – 10,000 + Certificate of Recognition
    • 3rd Prize – 5,000 + Certificate of Recognition
